H.E. Ambassador Marichu Mauro, ahead of her presentation of credentials to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, met with the Director-General of Asia, Oceania and Africa of the Ministry of External Relations, Mr. Alfredo Ramos, to discuss areas of cooperation between the Philippines and Colombia.

The Filipino community in Colombia met non-resident Philippine Ambassador to Colombia, H.E. Marichu Mauro on Sunday, 8 June 2018 at the Philippine Consulate in Bogota.

Filipino favorites adobo, pancit and buko pandan drew the crowds during the ASEAN Food and Cultural Festival held on 23 June 2018 at the Embassy of Indonesia compound in Brasilia, Brazil. Other Filipino products like dried mangoes, mango rum, pearl jewellery and fashion accessories like bags and hats were also a big hit at the Philippine booth.

Amidst Philippine National Day celebrations, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia hosted a Retooling Program for Honorary Consuls General of the Philippines in Brazil on 13-14 June 2018.

Undersecretary-General Ary Quintela of the Foreign Ministry of Brazil was the guest of honor in the diplomatic reception hosted by the Philippine Embassy in honor of the 120^th anniversary of Philippine Independence on 12 June at the famous Army Club of Brasilia. Other top officials from the Foreign Ministry also graced the occasion as well as members of the diplomatic corps and Brazilian officials.

Revered and distinguished training institution Dale Carnegie Institute conducted a team building course for the staff and officers of the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia, Brazil, on 19-20 May 2018 at the Royal Tulip Hotel.

Ambassador Marichu Mauro received on 21 May 2018 the Honorary Consul General for Manaus, Mr. Francisco Rodrigues Da Silva Filho. Mr. Rodrigues is the longest serving Honorary Consul General of the Philippines in Brazil. He has been serving since 1997. Aside from the city of Manaus, he has jurisdiction over the other cities in the State of Amazonas.

MANILA: As of 11 May 2018, the running total of overseas voters for the 2019 national elections has reached an all-time high of 1,600,746, which surpasses the previous record of 1,376,067 for the 2016 Presidential Elections according to the Department of Foreign Affairs - Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS).
