PH Ambassador presents credentials to Colombian President
Non-resident Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia, H.E. Marichu Mauro presented her Letter of Credence to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos on 10 July 2018 at Palacio de Nariño.
Ambassador Mauro extended President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s well-wishes to President Santos and the Colombian people. She reiterated how much the Philippines and Colombia have in common and how these cultural similarities should be used to further deepen relations of the two countries.
For his part, President Santos reaffirmed his country’s support to the Philippines and looks forward to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He conveyed to Ambassador Mauro his good wishes for President Duterte and the Filipino people.
Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Colombia was established in 1946 and have remained friendly and cordial through the years.
