Solemnization of Marriage at the Embassy
Only marriages between Filipino citizens abroad may be solemnized by a Consul General, Consul or Vice Consul of the Republic of the Philippines.
Any Filipino, male or female, 18 years of age or older, and not otherwise disqualified by law may contract marriage.
If one citizen is NON-FILIPINO, the marriage CANNOT be solemnized in the Embassy. Please contact the Civil Registry in your area of residence for the requirements.
Marriage License: Filipinos who wish to marry must apply for a Marriage License and submit requirements.
A notice containing the full names and residences of applicants for a Marriage License shall be posted for ten consecutive days on a bulletin board outside the Embassy located in a conspicuous place within the building and accessible to the general public. The marriage license shall be issued after the completion of the period of publication.
Requirements for Marriage License:
- Original and four (4) photocopies of the Certificates of Live Birth (Birth Certificate) of the contracting parties, issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Original and four (4) photocopies of the Certificates of No Record of Previous Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the PSA of the contracting parties.

Original and four (4) photocopies of the valid Philippine passports of the contracting parties.

Four (4) clear photocopies of the contracting parties valid Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório (CRNM), formerly known as Registro Nacional do Estrangeiros (RNE), or Protocolo if your CRNM is still being processed (Brazil); MKV - Machtiging tot Kort Verblijf (Suriname); or the relevant Visa or Stay Permit issued by the country of your residence (Colombia, Guyana or Venezuela).

Names of two (2) witnesses above 21 years of age who will attend the marriage solemnization and four (4) photocopies of their identification cards (passports, etc.)

Six (6) photos of the Filipinos to be married, passport size, with white background.
Processing fee:
Application for Marriage License: US$25.00 or R$ (Brazilian reais) equivalent at current rate.
Marriage Contract: US$25.00 or R$ (Brazilian reais) equivalent at current rate.
