Brasilia PE represents the best of the country in ASEAN bazaar
Filipino favorites adobo, pancit and buko pandan drew the crowds during the ASEAN Food and Cultural Festival held on 23 June 2018 at the Embassy of Indonesia compound in Brasilia, Brazil. Other Filipino products like dried mangoes, mango rum, pearl jewellery and fashion accessories like bags and hats were also a big hit at the Philippine booth.
The ASEAN Food and Cultural Festival is one of the most anticipated diplomatic events held in Brasilia every year. It aims to raise awareness among Brazilians about ASEAN and its member-states. All seven countries comprising the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia including the Philippine Embassy, each have a booth at the festival that displays the best of what their country has to offer.
More than a thousand people attended the event this year.
For the cultural presentation, a live band from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, whose global headquarters is in Davao City, Philippines, performed Filipino and Western songs much to the delight of the crowd. They also provided the entertainment for the rest of the day lending the event a party atmosphere. Each ASEAN Ambassador thanked them for contributing their efforts for the success of the event.
