PH Ambassador joins lunch hosted by Colombian Foreign Minister
Colombian Foreign Minister, H.E. Maria Angela Holguín Cuéllar, hosted lunch on 10 July 2018 for the nine foreign envoys including non-resident Ambassador of the Philippines to Colombia, H.E. Marichu Mauro, ahead of their presentation of credentials to the Colombian President H.E. Juan Manuel Santos.
The lunch was held at one of the state halls of Palacio de San Carlos, home of the Ministry of External Relations of Colombia.
During the event, Ambassador Mauro and all the other foreign envoys, presented copies of their Letter of Credence to Minister Holguín.
Ambassador Mauro was very fortunate to be seated right next to the Foreign Minister during the luncheon. Ambassador Mauro and Foreign Minister Holguín talked about the many similarities between the Philippines and Colombia. They also assured each other of their respective countries’ commitment to deepen relations between the Philippines and Colombia. Ambassador Mauro reiterated to the Foreign Minister her hope that the bilateral political consultations will push through early next year.
After the lunch, all the ambassadors were transported to the presidential palace of Palacio de Nariño for the Presentation of Credentials ceremony.
