PH participates in the Bazar de Comida e Cultura Internacional
BRASILIA — The Philippine Embassy in Brasilia participated in the 5th Bazar de Comida e Cultura Internacional (International Food and Cultural Bazaar) on 30 May 2026. Organized by the Grupo dos Cônjuges dos Chefes de Missão (GCCM), the event brought together various diplomatic missions to celebrate cultural diversity and support local charities.
The Philippine booth highlighted the country's vibrant "fiesta" heritage, showcasing traditional attire and serving popular delicacies such as turon, puto, and lumpiang shanghai. To further promote the Philippines as a premier travel destination, tourism materials were distributed to the public. The festivities were further enlivened by a musical performance from Mr. Emmanuel Santos, who showcased Filipino talent through his renditions of "Bésame Mucho" and "Kalesa."
The ASEAN Committee in Brasilia—comprising the embassies of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—also joined the event, demonstrating regional solidarity.
Attracting an estimated crowd of over 5,000 visitors, the bazaar featured participation from 46 embassies and missions. All proceeds generated from the event will be donated to charities selected by the GCCM.
