PHILIPPINE EMBASSY CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION AND MOBILE OVERSEAS VOTING REGISTRATION IN FLORIANOPOLIS, BRAZIL

Florianopolis, Brazil. From 4-5 July 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia organized a consular outreach mission, mobile overseas voting registration, and a community engagement meeting in Florianopolis, located in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.

Over the course of the two-day event, the Embassy team offered a comprehensive range of consular services, such as passport renewals, notarial acts, and consultations regarding civil registry. Additionally, the mission provided a venue for Filipinos in the region to enroll as overseas voters.

Ambassador Patrick John U. Hilado engaged with around 50 members of the local Filipino community, using the meeting to emphasize the Embassy's commitment to the protection and welfare of Filipinos in Brazil. During the dialogue, he underscored the importance of bringing services directly to the people through consular outreach missions and expressed a desire to bolster cultural and economic connections between the Philippines and Santa Catarina.

The session provided a vital forum for open communication, allowing the Embassy to listen to the specific needs and personal experiences of the community. Ambassador Hilado also praised the regional Filipino community for their bayanihan spirit, recognizing their contributions as cultural ambassadors who help solidify the relationship between the Philippines and Brazil.

The Embassy’s consular outreach team included Consul Bien Janine Alfaro, Finance Officer Ms. Grace Bentican, and Consular and OV Assistant Ms. Amor Bayog.
