PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE MARIO CHAN CALLS ON MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR DATUK LIM JUAY JIN ON 10 DECEMBER 2021

10 December 2021, Brasilia – Philippine Ambassador-designate Mario F. Chan called on the Malaysian Ambassador in Brasilia, Datuk Lim Juay Jin, at the Chancery of the Kedutaan Besar Malaysia, in pursuance of tradition among ASEAN diplomats.

Ambassador JJ, as the ASEAN Heads of Mission fondly call him, shared with Ambassador-designate Chan the valuable role of family togetherness during postings in far-flung countries such as Brazil. The Malaysian Ambassador also emphasized the bonding ties that ASEAN missions abroad cultivate, as a reminder of the close and friendly ties that ASEAN diplomats reminisce and look for whenever on diplomatic assignment if foreign countries.

 

The two ASEAN Heads of Mission fondly recalled their experiences in India where Ambassador-designate Chan formerly served as Philippine Defense Attaché in the early 2000s, and when Ambassador JJ visited India from time-to-tame as an officer of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.

 

 

The two Ambassadors share a common interest in racquet sports like badminton and table tennis, and discussed initiatives for bringing together the Philippine, Malaysian and other ASEAN Embassies in Brasilia through sports. END
