Philippine Ambassador meets with Filipinos in Venezuela
CARACAS, VENEZUELA: Ambassador Marichu Mauro met with members of the Filipino community on 8 January 2020 during her official trip to Caracas, capital of Venezuela.
She listened to their concerns and checked on their well-being given the current economic and political climate in Venezuela.
The Filipinos assured her that they are safe and that life is normal contrary to the news circulated by foreign media about the situation in Venezuela.
Ambassador Mauro assured them that Philippine government is ready to assist them and offered voluntary repatriation for those who want to leave Venezuela at this time.
There are still an estimated 150 Filipinos living and working in Venezuela.
