Outreach mission in Suriname serves more than a hundred Filipinos
Processing the passport applications of the littlest of Filipinos.
PARAMARIBO, SURINAME: More than a hundred Filipinos availed of consular services during the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia’s Consular Outreach Mission in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname.
A total of 115 passport applications was processed during the two-day consular service which was held on 23-24 February 2019 at Queens Hotel in Paramaribo. Twenty-six (26) applications for authentication services and five (5) civil registrations were also processed.
The consular team composed of Consular Assistants Ms. Teresa Paran and Mr. Jose Antonio Bea also rendered assistance to nationals during their work visit to Suriname. They interviewed and met with Filipinos requesting for ATN.
Suriname is a small country on the northeastern coast of South America. It's defined by vast swaths of tropical rainforest, and Dutch colonial architecture. On its Atlantic coast is the capital, Paramaribo. Several hundred Filipinos are estimated to be working and living in Suriname, most of which are skilled workers employed in mining, logging and fishing industries.
