PH hands over ACB chairmanship to Malaysia

Ambassador Marichu Mauro handed over the chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia (ACB) to Malaysian Ambassador Lin Juay Jin on 6 December 2018 in a ceremony during the seventh meeting of the year of the ACB and the fourth convened under the Philippines’  chairmanship.

Ambassador Mauro, who took over the chairmanship of the ACB in July, achieved many milestones during the six months that the Philippines was chair of the ACB including arranging a meeting with the Minister of External Relations of Brazil, H.E. Mr. Aloysio Nunes. The 51st anniversary celebration of ASEAN was also held under her stewardship.

In addition, the Philippine chairmanship of the ACB also served as an opportunity for the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia to feature the unique cuisine of the Philippines to its ASEAN neighbors.
